U.S. Army Selects Routing Switchers for Mission-Critical Environment
Sequoia™ Routing Switchers, U.S. Army.

In a U.S. Army test center the size of Rhode Island, missile and ammunition testing takes place every day. The testers’ jobs are to witness what actually happens with the trials, but the danger, noise level and intensity prevents them from being physically close to the weapons. Sierra Video Systems’ Sequoia routers, in conjunction with an intricate fiber-optic system, provide a close-up view of the tests and the results – from a safe distance.

High Quality Components To create this safe environment, a series of testing stations was established throughout the test center. Fiber-optic cables transmit video from each testing station to the command center for testers to view. The cameras are plugged into the Sierra Video Systems Sequoia routers, which distribute the video signals back to the assigned monitors at the command center. Testers can then review the video any number of times and in various ways in a protected, noise-free environment.

In a mission-critical environment like U.S. Army weapons testing, Sierra Video Systems’ Sequoia routers prove that high-quality video makes it just like “being there.”
